Frozen pahoehoe lava (April 07)  
Lava flows from the ongoing Pu'u 'O'o eruption at Kilauea have reshaped many square kilometers in the coastal flat on the south of Big Island. Uncountable pahoehoe lava flows have created a bizarre black desert where life is slowly remerging: small ferns and ohia trees are starting to regrow where no fresh lava has passed for some years.
